The Sift in Minecraft is the first new dimension in the game in over 14 years, and the Sift dimension is coming to Minecraft Java and Bedrock in 2027. Mojang announced this at Minecraft LIVE on September 26, 2026, with no exact day. Right now the only way to visit it is Minecraft Dungeons II (Minecraft Dungeons 2), which launched on September 29, 2026.

What Mojang has confirmed

Per Xbox Wire:

Media coverage of the reveal (for example Engadget and PC Gamer) describes the same 2027 plan and the Meadows and Carapace areas.

How to visit the Sift now

  1. Get Minecraft Dungeons II. See release time, price and editions and platforms, crossplay and Game Pass.
  2. Play the opening of the campaign. Xbox Wire says the Sift shows up early, and the story has the illagers invade it.
  3. Read the Sift explained for its biomes, Sift Tides and bosses, and system requirements if you play on PC.

The Dungeons II Sift is an action RPG version. Mojang has not said how much of it, such as the tides, the mobs or the gear, will carry over to survival Minecraft.

What we do not know yet

We will update this page when Mojang publishes more, for example at a future Minecraft LIVE.
