Dungeons2DB is a static reference site. It has no accounts, comments or forms, and we do not ask you for personal information.

Hosting and logs

The site is served through Cloudflare, which may process technical data such as IP address and request details to deliver pages and protect against abuse.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how the site is used. It sets cookies and collects usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type. This data is aggregated and we do not use it to identify you. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.

OpenPanel analytics

We also use OpenPanel, an analytics tool that we host ourselves, to count page views and on-site interactions such as searching or filtering a table, ticking off a fix step, playing a trailer and clicking a source link. Search text is shortened and stripped of punctuation before it is recorded. Events are sent through this site’s own domain to our OpenPanel server, which processes them; we do not sell this data. You can opt out by using a content or tracking blocker in your browser.

What is active today

Right now the site loads Google Analytics (GA4) and our self-hosted OpenPanel directly. There is currently no cookie consent banner, and no ads are shown.

Third-party advertising

We plan to show ads through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. These vendors may also use web beacons and IP addresses. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services.

Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.

Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland

Before showing ads to users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we plan to enable a Google-certified consent management platform so that consent is requested first. That consent tool is planned and is not yet live.

Children

This site is a general-audience reference and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Player feedback

Fix and guide pages have a “Did this fix it?” box. If you use it, we store the page, your yes or no answer, an optional note (up to 500 characters, links and email addresses are refused), an optional platform, your country as reported by Cloudflare, and the time. To limit abuse we also store a one-way hash of your IP address and browser details, made with a secret salt that changes every day, so the raw IP address is never saved and hashes cannot be linked across days. We use feedback to improve the fixes and to show how many players found a page helpful. To have your feedback deleted, email [email protected] with the page and approximate time.

Embedded video

Trailers load from YouTube only after you click play, using the youtube-nocookie.com privacy-enhanced domain. Until then, no request is made to YouTube. Once a video plays, YouTube may set cookies subject to its own policy.
