- Traversal and combat. Jumping and jump attacks are new, and reviewers say combat and build variety are better.
- More gear and customization. Weapons, armor, artifacts and talismans are all item-driven, and there are more slots than before.
- A bigger world. The campaign is an open-world style adventure with quests, and includes the new dimension, the Sift.
- Endgame. Game Informer says a satisfying power fantasy comes with a proper build.
