Dungeons II WASD and Keyboard Controls on PC
On PC, launch-day players say Minecraft Dungeons II (Minecraft Dungeons 2) has no WASD movement: you move and attack with the mouse by clicking, and jump with the space bar. Steam lists the game with Partial Controller Support, and most players who dislike click-to-move say to plug in a controller. Mojang has not said whether WASD will be added.
What players report
- No WASD in the release build. Posters in several Steam threads say the option is missing. Two say it existed in a development build but was removed for release; we could not verify that claim.
- Attack instead of move. One player wrote that when they click to walk away from mobs the game sometimes makes them attack instead, and they died to it in a boss fight. Another confirmed the same problem.
- Jump is on space. A poster noted jump is bound to space while movement is click-based.
- The first game was the same. Other posters point out Minecraft Dungeons 1 also had no WASD on PC, so the complaint is not new, though it has resurfaced more strongly for the sequel.
- Split opinions. Some players say click-to-move is normal for this genre; others compare it to Diablo or Path of Exile, which offer keyboard movement.
The Steam reviews show the same pattern. Among the 100 most recent reviews we read on launch day, about nine English reviews mention WASD or keyboard controls, in both positive and negative reviews, and a few say they are refunding over it.
Unconfirmed: is there a setting?
One reply in the “No WASD” thread said “it’s in the settings.” No other poster backed that up, and the rest of the thread says the opposite. Until someone posts a screenshot or Mojang documents it, assume there is no WASD toggle and check the controls menu yourself.
What to do instead
- Use a controller. It is the option most players suggest, and Steam’s store page lists Partial Controller Support. See Steam Deck and Linux status for handheld notes.
- Adjust your habits with the mouse. Players say click-to-move can turn into an attack when an enemy is under the cursor, so aim clicks at open ground when retreating. This is a general tip, not a documented setting.
- Give feedback. If WASD matters to you, say so in the Steam discussion or Mojang’s feedback channels; there is no official reply yet.
- Refund window. Steam allows a refund if you have played under two hours and bought within 14 days; see Steam refunds.

What we could not verify
Whether any rebinding exists, whether a hidden setting is there, and whether Mojang plans an update. We have not played the PC build ourselves and will update this page when we do.
FAQ
Does Minecraft Dungeons II have WASD movement?
Launch-day players and reviewers say no: on PC you move and attack with the mouse (click-to-move). Several Steam posters say WASD existed in a development build but not in the release. One reply in a thread said the option is in the settings, but nobody else confirmed it, so check the controls menu yourself.
Can I rebind keys?
We have not verified how much the PC build lets you rebind. Check the controls menu in the game. We will update this page after testing.
Should I play with a controller?
Many launch-day players recommend it. Steam lists the game with Partial Controller Support, and reviewers say a gamepad avoids the attack-instead-of-move problem of click-to-move.
Was WASD in the first Minecraft Dungeons?
Players in the same threads say the first game also used click-to-move on PC and never added WASD, which is why the request is now repeated for the sequel.
Is there an official statement about adding WASD?
We found none as of Sep 29, 2026.
