Dungeons II Capes and How to Redeem Codes

Steps for the Hero and Twisted capes
- Use one Microsoft account for everything: Dungeons I, Dungeons II and Minecraft Java or Bedrock.
- Launch Dungeons II and complete the Microsoft sign-in. If it fails, see Microsoft account link failed.
- Check that the cape shows as available in the game.
- Open Minecraft Java or Bedrock on the same account so the cape unlocks there as well. Minecraft.net says the game must show that you can equip the cape first.
What Steam players are asking
The pre-order cape thread on Steam shows many players asking whether buying on Steam still gives the cape on a Java account. Posters quote the Minecraft.net article and say the cape is tied to your Microsoft account once you log in through the game; that is consistent with the official steps above, but the poster answers are not official confirmation for Steam purchases specifically. Another player asked where to redeem a cape code and answered themselves: under General settings, scrolled to the bottom.
How to redeem a Minecraft cape code
In Minecraft Dungeons II (Corrupted Creeper Cape and other promo codes). Minecraft.net says the Corrupted Creeper reward is redeemed in-game after you complete the Twitch or TikTok quest. A Steam player said the redeem option is under General settings, scrolled to the bottom; Minecraft.net does not give the menu path, so this is a player report.
Hero and Twisted capes (no code). These are not codes. Per Minecraft.net you log in to Dungeons II with the right Microsoft account, then log in to Minecraft Java and/or Bedrock to unlock them there.
Physical pre-order codes. Minecraft.net says to redeem the code from the game package on your platform first (xbox.com/redeem, ec.nintendo.com/redeem, or the PlayStation Store’s Redeem Code option), then follow the Twisted Cape steps above.
In Minecraft Java or Bedrock. Minecraft.net has an official redeem page at minecraft.net/redeem for codes and gift cards, and a Help Center article on redeeming a code for in-game content. Search results describe the redeem page as requiring a Microsoft account, and codes as one-use; check the page itself for the current steps. Minecraft Java also has a Help Center article about activating a Bedrock cape in Java. We have not tested these.
Not confirmed. Whether the Soul Cape or Corrupted Creeper Cape can be used in Java or Bedrock, and whether a Twitch drop code for a Dungeons II cape can be redeemed at minecraft.net instead of in the game.
Redemption errors
One Steam thread (nine replies) reports the Twitch reward failing with “Redemption code is unavailable. Please try again later.” for the Aurora Cape and the Corrupted Creeper Cape. A reply says the Aurora Cape is only available in Minecraft (Java or Bedrock), not in Dungeons II. Another poster guessed the codes ran out; that is unconfirmed, and we found no official statement.
What we could not verify
- Whether refunding the game affects cosmetics already unlocked. One Steam poster asserted it would remove them, but we found no official statement, so do not rely on it.
- Exact in-game menu names for redeeming codes.
- Any details for the “Special Cape” beyond “stay tuned.”
