SymptomThe pre-order bonus (Twisted Cape, Twisted Chicken, two hero skins) is not in your inventory, or a physical copy had no pre-order code.

If your Twisted Cape, Twisted Chicken or pre-order skins are missing in Minecraft Dungeons II (Minecraft Dungeons 2), no confirmed fix exists yet. The official steps are to sign in to your Microsoft account in the game, check that the pre-order items show up, and then sign in to Minecraft Java or Bedrock on the same account. If the items are still missing, you will most likely need retailer or platform support. This page lists what players report as of Oct 3, 2026.

What Mojang says

Minecraft.net’s capes and promos article says the Twisted Cape, the Twisted Chicken and two skins were only available by pre-ordering and now carry the label “no longer available through purchase”. For pre-orders not yet redeemed, it says to log in to your Microsoft account in the game and confirm the pre-order items, then log in to Bedrock and/or Java on the same account to confirm the Twisted Cape. For physical pre-orders it says to find the code in the game package and redeem it on your platform first. See capes and promos for the full list.

What players report

These are player reports from r/MinecraftDungeons between Sept 29 and Oct 2, 2026. None is confirmed by Mojang.

What you can try

None of these is confirmed to work.

  1. Make sure the game is linked to the Microsoft account you pre-ordered with. If linking fails, see Microsoft account link failed.
  2. Check the cape in the game first, then sign in to Minecraft Java or Bedrock with the same account, as Minecraft.net describes.
  3. For a physical copy with no code, contact the retailer and keep the order number. Contact the platform’s support as well (Nintendo, PlayStation or Xbox) if the code was redeemed but the items are missing.
  4. If you saw Error 0072 while claiming, see the error codes page. It is a single post and nothing is confirmed.

Third-party keys and spare codes

Several players ask for spare pre-order codes, and one asks whether a pre-purchase key from a key reseller would still unlock the cape after launch. We found no official statement on this and no player who reports it working. Treat any code from a stranger or a reseller as a risk. Codes are single-use and tied to one account.

What is unconfirmed

We will update this page after an official response or a patch note.

FAQ

Why is my Dungeons II pre-order bonus missing?

Players report several causes: a physical copy with no pre-order code in the box, a code redeemed on the console that never shows in the game, a pre-order payment that was rejected without a clear notice, and an account that is not linked. Mojang has not given a cause for the missing items as of Oct 3, 2026.

What does Mojang say to do?

Minecraft.net says to log in to your Microsoft account in the game, confirm the pre-order items are there, then log in to Minecraft Java or Bedrock on the same account to confirm the Twisted Cape. For physical copies, redeem the package code on your platform first.

Can I still buy the pre-order bonus?

Minecraft.net labels the pre-order bonus as no longer available through purchase. We found no official statement about buying it, or about third-party keys, after launch.

My physical copy had no pre-order code. What now?

Several players report this on PS5 and Switch 2 retail copies. No fix is confirmed. Players say they contacted the retailer; one retailer reportedly said its supplier had delayed the codes. Contact the retailer and platform support, and keep your receipt.

I redeemed the code but nothing appears in the game.

One Switch 2 player says the Deluxe pack works but the pre-order items do not appear even though the code shows in their eShop history. Nobody has posted a confirmed fix.

Will this be fixed?

There is no official acknowledgement of a pre-order bonus bug yet. We will update this page when Mojang or the platform holders respond.

Did this fix it?
