SymptomA creaking, knocking, ringing or windmill-like sound loops nonstop and follows you into menus and the hub until you relaunch.

If a sound in Minecraft Dungeons II (Minecraft Dungeons 2) will not stop looping, close the game completely and launch it again. Players say the noise follows you into menus, the hub city and even the home screen, and only a relaunch clears it. This comes from player reports, not an official fix, and Mojang has not acknowledged the bug as of Oct 2, 2026.

What players see

What to do

  1. Quit the game fully and start it again. Players report this clears the noise.
  2. If it returns, note what you did just before: which artifact you used, which area you were in, and whether you were online or offline.
  3. Post the details in the Steam discussion thread above so it is easier for Mojang to find. One poster said they made a thread for that reason.

Is it a different audio problem?

Two other launch-week threads are separate and each has only one poster: audio cutting out every few seconds on one PC player’s side, and no sound at all after the title screen. We do not know the cause of either, so treat them as unconfirmed.

What we could not verify

The real trigger, whether it is tied to the Banner artifact, and whether a patch is planned. We will update this page when Mojang responds or a patch lands. For artifact behaviour, see the artifacts database and the artifact not working bug.

FAQ

Why is a sound looping nonstop in Minecraft Dungeons II?

Several players report a bug where one sound effect keeps playing for the rest of the session, including in menus and the hub. The cause is unknown and Mojang has not commented as of Oct 2, 2026.

How do I stop the looping sound?

Players say closing the game and launching it again clears it. It is a workaround, not a fix, and some say it comes back later.

What triggers it?

Unknown. One player blamed the Banner artifact's sound and effect. Others heard creaking, knocking, ringing or a windmill-like sound with no obvious trigger, sometimes after about an hour of play.

Is the audio cutting out or missing the same bug?

Probably not. Two single threads describe audio cutting out every few seconds on PC and no sound after the title screen. Those are separate reports with no confirmed cause.
