Dungeons II Controller Not Working on PC: Fixes

If your controller is not working in Minecraft Dungeons II (Minecraft Dungeons 2) on PC, first disconnect and reconnect it, then restart the game, and try a USB cable instead of Bluetooth. Those are the fixes players in Steam threads mention. If you use a PlayStation or other non-Xbox pad, expect trouble. These are player reports, not official steps.

What players report

• Bluetooth pad ignored. A player said their controller worked everywhere, including the launcher, but not in this game unless plugged in with USB.
• PS5 pad with Steam Input. A player said the pad did not work with Steam Input on and they were forced onto keyboard and mouse.
• “Is there no controller support?” In a third thread some players said it works for them, one needed to reconnect the pad several times, and one said the game only accepts Xbox controllers unless third-party software makes other pads look like Xbox ones.
• Duplicate controllers. A launch-day reviewer (see crash on launch) said tools such as DSX, Steam Input and HidHide caused duplicate controllers and menu trouble.

Steam lists the game with Partial Controller Support, which fits a mixed picture.

PlayStation button icons

Two Steam threads ask why a DualSense or DualShock shows Xbox button icons. Answers there: with Steam Input disabled the PlayStation icons appear, but only for a PS5 controller (a poster said DS4Windows is not needed); a PS4 pad reportedly is not supported. Others said their pad stops working when Steam Input is off, and one got a DualSense working after restarting the PC. Another player said Steam Input changed their icons after a Steam maintenance outage and reported their controller as incompatible. Results are mixed, so treat this as trial and error.

Fixes to try, in order

1. Reconnect the controller and restart the game. Unplug or disconnect, close the game completely, reconnect, then start.
2. Use a USB cable to rule out the Bluetooth link.
3. Try an Xbox-style controller or a pad set to XInput mode, if you have one.
4. Toggle Steam Input. In Steam, right-click the game > Properties > Controller, and try the override off, then on. This is a general Steam step, not a confirmed fix for this game.
5. Turn off other remapping tools (DSX, HidHide, controller emulators) while testing so the game does not see two pads.
6. Update Windows and your Bluetooth driver, then repair pairing by removing and adding the device again.

What we could not verify
