Twisted Warden Boss in Dungeons II: Tips
The Twisted Warden is the first big boss of Minecraft Dungeons II (Minecraft Dungeons 2), and players disagree on how hard he is: some groups cannot beat him at all, others kill him in seconds. Mojang has published no boss guide, so everything below is player reports as of Oct 17, 2026, not confirmed mechanics.
What players report about the fight
- The spin attack is the problem. One Reddit player asks how to dodge it at all, and another jokes that it deals huge damage. No confirmed dodge timing has been posted.
- Too hard early. Three Steam reviewers say so. One says their group cannot take him out at the start of the game no matter their level or item level. Another lists him with the Sculk Monstrosity as unfairly balanced. A third says he should not have been the first boss.
- Fast kills exist. Players on Reddit post kills in about 4 to 6 seconds, 15 seconds on Hard and under 30 seconds with a bow. One build uses the Prime Enchanter Gauntlets, Warding Chimes, a grindstone, a mushroom for attack speed and artifacts that shorten cooldowns (see how to get the gauntlets).
- Stagger. A player farming him with a war hammer says hitting him fast enough staggers him before he can attack. Unconfirmed.
Tricks players mention (may be bugs)
- Edge jump. One player says to lure him to an edge during the spin and jump off. Falling into the void reportedly stops the spin, you respawn beside him and take only a few points of damage. They warn he may attack right away.
- Wall pop-up. Reddit players say that standing against the back wall of the arena when he spins pushed them up onto or over a barrier, from where they could shoot him with a bow while his attacks missed.
- Knocked out of the arena. Several players were knocked outside the arena, one over a closed gate. If you get stuck, see boss arena softlock and out-of-bounds.
These look like unintended behavior, so they may be patched and we have not tested them.
Loot
One Reddit player compares the loot with the Copper Monstrosity: five to seven drops with several uniques from the Monstrosity, but only about two green or blue drops from the Twisted Warden, with the same loot-focused build. That is a single report. A friend of another poster says the Warden dropped only commons, which is covered in uniques not dropping.
For the Twisted Warden Blindfold, players who farmed him for hours say it did not drop, and nobody has a confirmed source. See the Blindfold section of the gauntlets page.
If you are stuck
- Lowering the difficulty in settings is the simplest option. For why enemies can feel stronger than your gear, see difficulty scaling too hard and item stats and power.
- If your dodge does not seem to work, check roll not registering.
- Damage artifacts such as the grindstone are the most repeated advice in the build posts. See artifacts.
We will update this page when Mojang or more players confirm mechanics and drops.
FAQ
How do you beat the Twisted Warden in Minecraft Dungeons II?
Mojang has not published a guide. Players say his spin attack is the dangerous move, that hitting him fast enough staggers him before he attacks, and that strong jump-attack or bow builds kill him in seconds. All of this is player-reported and not tested by us.
How do I dodge the Twisted Warden's spin attack?
One Reddit player asks exactly this and gets no confirmed answer in the post. Another says to lure him to an arena edge and jump off; falling into the void reportedly cancels the spin and you respawn next to him. This is a player tip and may be an unintended trick.
Can the Twisted Warden knock you out of the arena?
Several players say yes. His spin attack can push you into a wall or over a barrier, and some say that puts you on a platform above the arena where you can shoot him. These are bug-like behaviors, so they may change in a patch.
Is the Twisted Warden meant to be this hard as the first boss?
Three Steam reviewers say it is too hard or poorly balanced for an early boss, while other Reddit players report killing him in 4 to 30 seconds with optimised builds. Mojang has not commented on the balance.
Does the Twisted Warden drop good loot?
Reports are mixed. One Reddit player says he gave only about two green or blue drops while the Copper Monstrosity gave five to seven drops, often several uniques. Nobody has posted a confirmed drop table.
